Why we built this
In 2008, frustrated with cluttered calculator sites, we built our own tip & loan calculator instead. DirectTally Hub grew from that one personal fix into a small, quietly-used tool with no sign-up, no pop-ups, and no clutter standing between a visitor and an answer.
Priya Slater, based in Lexington, KY, still leads the small team that keeps this running. The same standard applies to every new feature: it must trace back to a documented formula and it must not slow the page down.

Calculations run in your browser. We do not need your data to do our job.
How we keep the formulas correct
Every formula here goes through the same process: implement it, check it against known-correct reference numbers, then leave it alone. We would rather have one calculator you can fully trust than several you have to double-check. When a visitor points out an edge case we had not considered — a leap year, a negative percentage, a currency with unusual rounding conventions — we treat it as a bug report and fix the formula, not just the symptom.
Hiding the formula behind a black box never felt right to us, so the how it works page spells out exactly what happens behind every result, in plain language, precisely so you do not have to just take our word for it.

The contact page reaches a real person, not a ticketing system, so questions, corrections, and suggestions are all genuinely welcome there. Several of the small fixes on this site started life as a visitor's message.
